Forge fuel showdown which do you prefer?

Tried out charcoal, propane, and coal in my forge and I can say that each has its own set of pros and cons. I’m interested to hear what fuels you all use and which ones you think are the best for heat control and efficiency.

I usually go with propane, it's reliable for heating and super easy to control, which is why I prefer it.

Propane is good for production jobs ( making hundreds of pair of tongs ) but lacks localized heating, when used in a properly designed forge is good for composite welds like damascus. Charcoal heats well, allows localized heating but is expensive and is more difficult to weld in because of generally a more oxidizing fire. Coal heats well, allows localized heating and welds steel easily.
