Starting my blacksmith journey

Hello everyone! I've set up my forge and tools, eager to learn forging, metalworking, and craftsmanship from this community.

Welcome and you're in for a heck of a ride.. first forging techniques were, I understand developed about 4000 BCE, with copper but you could walk into a forge then, 6000yrs ago.. and go right to work.. that historical connection through time with others with the same thoughts and concerns.. and mistakes.. and scarred forearms.. has always fascinated me on a very deep level.. I posted a long ramble recently in "Handling small wrought iron pieces tongs advice" with some advice I feel is good that you might look at if you've got time or inclination (don't want to re-post it all over.. prob catch heck for cluttering up the forum). I'm sure we all look forward to your questions and accomplishments.
