knife pattern failed

I've made a knife before, but not with a pattern. now I want to go to the next level and make some cool knives with patterns.
I tried to do all things right, but it didn't come out as I hoped.
I wanted to make a knife with a ladder like pattern down the centre with some stars on either side. I got the ladder but not the stars
I'm not sure what happened, maybe bcs I forged them down too thin, I wasn't able to grind down deep enough into the blade to reveal the stars
so, don't do what I did, guys. Imma try it again next time
