Metal brushes on sale at Menards

Menards has a great deal on metal brushes. The 3 pack is only $3 dollars and has a carbon steel brush, a stainless steel brush and a brass brush. These are my go to brushes for brushing off the scale off my pieces when they come out of the forge. In case you didn't know this, when you pull your finished piece out of the forge while still orange and brush it vigorously with the brass brush, when your piece cools off it has a gold color from the brass sticking to the hot metal. Great for making Christmas icicles.

Nice suggestion! That brass brush trick is pretty slick I’d never considered using it for icicles. A solid trio of bristles, and you can’t go wrong with that $3 price tag.
