Here's a fun challenge: you get a six" chunk of steel and can forge anything you want. The catch is everything has to come from that one piece of steel. Think resourceful but really, it's not about what you make. It's about trying something new.

Take this chance to try that crazy twist, forge weld, or whatever you've been avoiding. Messing up is part of it. The whole point is to grow and inspire others to do the same.
 
I'd choose a twisted spike with a forged eye, it's compact and clean, perfect for honing taper control and ensuring twist consistency. You can focus the mass on the eye, elongate the shaft, and still make it all from a single piece. It's a great opportunity to experiment with your hammer angles and perhaps even revisit a punch or drift you haven't handled in a while.
