What’s your go-to dish to whip up on the forge?

Hey blacksmiths! When you’re working that forge, do you ever use it to cook up one of your favorite meals? I’ve heard of everything from delicious steaks to unique cast-iron skillet recipes. What do you enjoy making, and do you have any tips to elevate the taste?

I've cooked steaks in a cast iron skillet on the forge a couple of times. An old buddy from the shop told me they taste better with forge heat.

I usually make burgers. I started doing it on long days when I didn't want to leave the forge. Now it's kind of a thing.

I also toss some veggies in a skillet. I learned that from helping a friend on long days. It's quick and it keeps me going, so I still do it.

Chef Boy-Ar-Dee meat ravioli in the can. When the contents start to bubble out the top, it is heated through.
