I'm a hobbyist blacksmith looking to get into some larger sculptural and architectural work, and I'm on the hunt for a good source of genuine wrought iron. I've been checking online, but most of what I'm finding is either salvaged off-cuts or small, expensive bars marketed for specific decorative pieces. I'm hoping to find a supplier that sells in bulk, maybe a few hundred pounds at a time, so I can have enough material for multiple projects without the headache of tracking down every last piece, and of course, to save on shipping.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a reputable supplier of genuine wrought iron? I'm open to both online and local options. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

To find proper wrought iron, check out metal recycling places or blacksmithing supply shops. They usually sell it in large amounts and at prices that won't break the bank.

The wrought iron I have acquired in the past was from old fences. I have seen wrought fencing for sale on face book market place. You might look to see if there is any architectural salvage places near you.

As far as I know, there's only one supplier of true wrought iron, & that is salvaged & reworked into new bars. They are in the UK & not at all cheap. No one makes new wrought iron.
