Reflecting on 2025, there was likely one blacksmithing tool, technique, or trend that really caught your eye whether it was smoother forging, better heat control, or an innovative new gadget. What blacksmithing upgrade or idea left the biggest impression on you this past year?

This year, I really zeroed in on getting better heat control in the forge. It might seem simple, but nailing that aspect has made my hammering cleaner and has cut down on wasted steel more than any new tool ever could.

I was genuinely amazed at how much a straightforward upgrade to my power hammer transformed my workflow. Seeing how efficiently it moved materials made me reconsider my approach to larger projects in the shop.
