Not too long ago I had one of those rare forge welds where everything went smoothly. The surfaces were clean, the heat was just right, and there was no drama, it felt fantastic. It made me think about the welds you all have accomplished recently that really made an impression.

Last time, a tricky billet came together. This time it all lined up and welded on the first go. These rare, smooth moments mess with your head.

Had a similar weld not long ago. Clean steel, right heat, and it just stuck. Welds that go smoothly feel too easy, almost like the forge saying sorry

Finally got a layered weld right after failing before.
I prepped better and slowed down.
When it went well I just stood there smiling like I got lucky.
