First forge project you want to tackle in 2026

As you gear up for your first forge project of 2026 it’s time to shake off the cobwebs and decide what to dive into first. Some projects might be quick wins that give you a sense of accomplishment while others could present a bit more of a challenge.

So, what’s the first creation you’re excited to tackle this year?

I’m starting off easy with a small batch of hooks for the shop. It’s nothing extravagant, but after a few slow weeks away from the forge, it feels great to get the hammer back in my hand and whip something up quickly.

I’m diving headfirst into a hand-forged wrench as my first project. I haven’t tackled anything this precise before, so it’s going to really test my skills and patience, but that’s exactly the challenge I’m looking for in 2026.

My first project is a little knife I’ve been sketching all winter long. It’s a bit tricky since I want to experiment with a new blade shape, but I’m really eager to see if I can make it work.
