Hot cut chisel?

Have a chisel I have made out of O1 that I intend to use to cut hot material. Am I correct that I do not need to harden and temper it?

Not exactly, O1 still needs to be hardened and tempered, even when you're using it for hot work, otherwise, it'll easily lose its shape under heat and stress.
