not just any door i want to make a medival one and i have a general idea of how to make it but theres something bugging me. what exactly was the purpose of a studded door in those times? protection reinforcement anyone??

Now that you mentioned it.. i think the purpose is more decorative? i dont think the studs made the door stronger. but i could be wrong

studded doors were a thing because these strengthen the wooden door. they weren't simply a decoration. but yeah protection also because they couldn't just break the doors down. but hahaha i think there's also a part of symbol or anything probably people from medievals thought they were more chic or something if they're studded or?

thanks to clearning that up. I doubt my neighbors will try to break down my door, so I can go with the decorative part and not worry about reinforcements lol

It's possible for you to make that. But then are you really sure?

EDIT: I read that you went for the decorative aspect. Good to know! You wouldn't wanna pay for the harm your studs can cause your Amazon delivery men.
