I never pass up the truck wheel flaps laying along the berm. Attached to that flap is a 3 foot piece of 1/2 inch square stock. Perfect for making door pull handles. The ends of the handles can be forged into different designs. The thick flexible rubber flap, I have a piece of one on several work benches. They are great for cutting on. I also punch out felt wads on that rubber mat for my smoothbore gun. When I mounted my anvil to my stump, I cut out a thick rubber mat piece that matched the shape of the anvil foot. When I locked down the anvil, that rubber mat helped quiet the anvil some as it absorbs the pounding vibrations. I'll clean that flap up and save it for future use. My Motto: ..... Scavenge Everything !!
