hoping to use bronze for this. Any tips on how to make a bronze bowl? any suggestions and tips are appreciated

If you're using bronze for the bowl that's a bold choice for a beginner but it's doable as long as you're prepared with the right setup and lots of patience I mean bronze can crack if not handled carefully so if you're casting make sure you got proper molds and a furnace and if you're hammering get ready for repetitive annealing otherwise the metal's gonna laugh at you and if all this sounds like a headache maybe just start with a wooden bowl first to test your crafting vibes before diving into metal drama good luck man hope your mom loves it

pretty straightforward and if you believe in yourself enough, you'll be able to do it. just trust! do casting if you're already good at it but if not just a bowl-spinning would do. bowl mold ready up!

I agree, the hammering will kill you after a while, but it will be worth it considering it's for your mother

you can do it! it's a good project for a beginner. although, it might be more challenging than forging steel bcs it can be more sensitive to heat and need a more careful control when you're forging

Since you're a beginner, I suppose it's better if you just do cold hammering. Just anneal frequently so you can keep the metal soft. Be sure you have your bronze sheet ready. 16 gauge can do.
